As for usability, the Winfield 2 features four 360-degree spinner wheels which make it very smooth to maneuver even when the case is filled with all your holiday essentials. The durable oversized zipper and zippered expansion-compression system make it easier to close when packed to the brim. We like that Samsonite has included a side-mounted TSA combination lock that secures the zippers and keeps your belongings safe while in transit.

The interior is not fancy, but it is extremely spacious and should easily hold enough clothes for a week long trip. It is also lined and fitted with basic elastic straps to hold your clothes in place, as well as a full-width zippered mesh pocket on the lid for smaller items. While the polycarbonate shell itself is waterproof, it’s important to note, that the zipper lining is not, so belongings can get damp when exposed to a decent amount of liquids.

For a large-sized hard-shell suitcase, Winfield 2 is quite light which is exactly what you’d want for longer trips. Our main concern with the Winfield 2 is that its sleek exterior is quick in accumulating scratches and scuffs. Despite its naturally textured exterior, the scratches will eventually be visible. Some buyers have also reported problems with the telescopic handle which is not as sturdy as you might expect for a case of this size. The carry-on variant seldom has this issue though.

The case is also nice to handle on flat terrain and the upright rolling system keeps the weight off of the arm and shoulder, allowing for maximum comfort while maneuvering the suitcase. We’ve noticed that the external handles are well-made, however, they’re only fitted on one side and on the top. A handle on every side would be preferable for easier lifting.

The shell is made from molded polypropylene, a very tough type of plastic that keeps the weight of the case to a minimum whilst still resisting dents, drops, and the rigors of airline travel. Our main complaint about the exterior of the Freefall 21 is that it’s quite easy to scratch and the marks are fairly visible. If aesthetics are not your main concern then this may only be a minor inconvenience, but still one worth considering.

If its packing space you want then the Freefall certainly fulfills that demand. The case features a zippered expansion system which provides approximately 2 inches of extra packing space for bringing home your holiday souvenirs. That may sound like a mouthful but essentially it means that this particular case performs pretty well over airport floors as well as bumpy pavements.

Despite being marginally on the heavier side when it comes to Samsonite carry-ons, the Leverage LTE has a host of other features that make it a strong option for buyers. As mentioned earlier, the exterior is quite well-made and has padded handles on the sides making it easy to carry. The dual wheel design provides much more stability to the case, something we’ve really grown to appreciate. However, it’s been noted that the suitcase doesn’t perform best on rugged terrain. Despite its mid-range price, it has the look and feel of a higher-end suitcase. A con worth noting is that when expanded and packed fully it can tip over. You can expand this model by 1” for additional packing space but you need to have an eye on weight distribution when doing so.

The U-shaped opening may not be as convenient to pack as a standard suitcase but it definitely makes it easy to open and access items while traveling. We like that this wheeled duffel gives users the option of rolling the case over flat ground or carrying it over stairs and other obstacles using the padded duffel bag handles. Samsonite has also added a padded handle to the top of the bag for lifting it while in the upright position.

In terms of size, the Andante Wheeled Duffel is slightly on the larger side as far as carry-on luggage go, so users will need to be careful about overpacking, particularly if traveling with a budget airline. The soft-sided polyester fabric is what makes this wheeled duffel so lightweight. While it’s able to withstand usual abrasions, reviewers have noticed that there is no protector at the base of the bag, meaning that it’s likely to become dirty and scuff quickly when standing upright. That being said, this is arguably a minor problem and, for a budget Samsonite luggage bag, the Andante 22 Inch Wheeled Duffel is very well-made.

The Tote-a-Ton offers an unorganized yet immense amount of packing space akin to the boot of some cars. If you happen to be a sports enthusiast and like to take your gear as you go then this luggage can come in handy. Another positive is that it barely takes up any room when stored. The handles are well-positioned and sturdy so as long as the weight is somewhat evenly distributed this duffel is a cinch to carry. There is one quick access pouch on the outside for storing small items.

The Tote-a-Ton provides a good alternative to traditional luggage at a very low cost. Since it has no structural rigidity, some users find it difficult to organize items as they pack. When not packed to the fullest it can flop around a fair bit as well. While these issues are manageable, the main ones pertain to how much protection is on offer to the contents inside. The high-density 420D nylon exterior is wear-resistant but is not water-resistant. Many users also remarked that the luggage can start to wear around the zippers.

Overall, the price and the packing space are what we found to be extremely appealing. You have about eight colors to choose from as well.
